Oral Lymphatic Delivery of Novel Modalities Workshop
Thursday, July 29, 12PM - 4PM EDT
Novel new oral delivery has become of critical importance as demand for new modalities for previously undruggable targets has expanded across multiple disease areas (e.g. “beyond the rule of 5” type molecules, peptides, PROTAC, Etc) with low permeability and solubility challenges. Thus, there is a need for novel oral delivery technologies that can effectively deliver large molecules with non-classical physicochemical properties. Oral delivery of low permeability and soluble molecules has been accomplished via formulations that target the lymphatic system. However, there are gaps in our scientific understanding of the absorption process, screens to optimize molecules and formulation space, unique risks, etc. This workshop provides an opportunity for academic and industry stakeholders to jointly focus their efforts towards solving contemporary permeability & solubility challenges facing developers. The objective of this workshop is to raise awareness for critical development issues in the oral lymphatic delivery space and collaborate on how to address these hurdles, with a focus on the development of formulations that can enable oral lymphatic absorption.
